500PLUS® BAMTEC® – EastLink Culvert Bases VIC

Melbourne’s Eastlink is Australia’s largest urban infrastrastructure project, comprising 45km of freeway-standard road. 500PLUS® BAMTEC® saved a Thiess John Holland a considerable amount of time and effort on site in the construction of base slabs for many of the culverts in the project.

500PLUS® BAMTEC® steel reinforcing carpets from OneSteel Reinforcing speeds construction and reduces labour needs as steelfixers don’t have to carry and tie hundreds of loose reinforcing bars by hand which is very labour intensive and time consuming. The Waubra Wind Farm Project in Victoria involved the construction of a wind farm on rural properties north west of Ballarat. The 500PLUS® BAMTEC® system was used to place the rebar for the 128 heavily reinforced wind tower bases. This provided considerable savings in labour and time on site.
